United Drug Go Green | Installation of EV Charging Points

United Drug Go Green | Installation of EV Charging Points

As part of our efforts to become carbon Neutral by 2030, United Drug has installed 6 electric car chargers at our sites in Citywest, and Baldonell.

The chargers are available for employee use, with 12 employees using this facility throughout the day. Most EV cars only charge once or twice per week, and with a low cost of approximately €5 to charge from empty to full. On average, this gives a drive range of between 200 - 300km for the small to medium sized car.

Our Citywest site has the capacity to expand to 12 chargers when need arises.

Blake Houlihan, Facilities Manager at United Drug led this project, stated that there is a plan to install similar charging points in the Limerick and Ballina depots over the coming months.

In addition, Dave Hannan, Head of Indirect Procurement & Facilities at United Drug said there are plans to “introduce Hybrid/ EV options to the company car fleet over the next 6 months".

This will further increase United Drugs efforts to become carbon Neutral by 2030.
