HPV Vaccination and the Role of the Pharmacist
For this webinar we are joined by Sinéad Cleary who is a Colposcopy Nurse in Tallaght Hospital, and Martin Hynes, Clinical Governance Pharmacist of LloydsPharmacy to discuss the importance of HPV vaccination and the role of the pharmacist in the prevention of cervical cancer.
Key Learnings
This webinar will aim to provide the Pharmacist with advice to support their patients in pharmacy including the following:
- The role of the pharmacist in the vaccination process
- Understanding the scheduling and dosage of vaccination in all cohorts
- Increasing the uptake of HPV vaccination and how the pharmacist can assist
- Scope of the vaccine going onto Schedule 8 and how the pharmacist will play a role in this

Sinéad Cleary

Advanced Nurse Practitioner in Colposcopy
Sinéad Cleary is a Registered Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP), Nurse Colposcopist, Nurse Sonographer and Registered Midwife in the Women’s Health Unit in Tallaght University Hospital. She is also the current chair of the Tallaght University Hospital ANP Group. Sinéad began her career as a Clinical Midwife specialist in colposcopy in the Coombe Women’s hospital in 2005 before she moved to Tallaght University Hospital as a Candidate Advanced Nurse Practitioner in 2017.
In addition to her role in Tallaght University Hospital, Sinéad is a member of the executive committee of the national nurses’ group, Nurses in Colposcopy Clinics in Ireland Association (NICCIA) and is a member of the Clinical Advisory Group to CervicalCheck.
Martin Hynes

Martin is Clinical Governance Pharmacist at Lloyds Pharmacy Ireland since November 2018 and before this started in support Pharmacist and Supervisory roles. He completed his BSc (Pharm) degree at the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Trinity College, Dublin in 2005 before completing his pre-registration, and qualifying as a pharmacist in December 2006.
In 2013 he completed a MSc in Healthcare Management with RCSI
Graduate School of Healthcare Management and became a member of the PSI Health
Committee in October 2018.
