The Allergy category has skyrocketed in the last 3 years and wholesale market sales are at an all time high since 2021!
The following statistics from Allergy Ireland showcase exactly why Irish people are reaching for allergy treatments more and more every year:
- Approx. 29% of Irish people suffer from some type of allergy.
- Roughly 15% of the population have complex allergy problems requiring specialist care.
- 10% of children and young adults have more than one allergic disorder such as food allergy, eczema, asthma, and nasal allergy.
- Allergic Rhinitis (nasal/sinus allergy) is the most common allergic condition and affects about 26% of Irish people.
Considering market data for the last 10 years, there was steady growth up until the end of Covid-19 restrictions followed by a steep incline of 70% between 2021 and 2022. 2023 is on course to top 2022’s figures.
The growth doesn’t stop there. Even during winter months, this category has sales equivalent to the peak of 2016 and only 20% down on 2018 and 2019’s highest quarters.
