McKesson Ireland was delighted to host their first virtual Employee Recognition Awards night on Apr 22nd. Consisting of United Drug, Lloyds Pharmacy, Median Healthcare and TCP Homecare, the global leading healthcare group has recently been listed as one of the top 150 employers in Ireland and holds a keen focus on employee engagement and recognition. Following an extremely challenging year for everyone that truly tested their employee creativity, innovation and courage in the workplace, they sought to enhance their employee recognition scheme in a new innovative and virtual way.
The McKesson Ireland Employee Awards celebrates all those who embody their icare and ilead values and behaviours each and every-day. United by these shared values across the group, their employees work every day to innovate and deliver opportunities to improve patient care in every setting – one product, one partner, one patient at a time.
Pharmacy Team of the Year
LloydsPharmacy Tonlegee RD were delighted with their win for Team of the Year award for their excellent customer service and for always going the extra mile for their patients. This is a team of 16 colleagues, all of whom play an equal role in the success of the busy Pharmacy.
Anne is the longest serving member in the business who has been with the company over 25 years with a wealth of knowledge and expertise delivering an unrivalled customer service.
The Supervising Pharmacist Lorenza and her team of pharmacists Aga and Lucian have built excellent rapport with patients and run an efficient dispensary system.
The technician team;
Michelle, Becky, Zrinka and Dermot play a critical role supporting the Pharmacists and with their extensive training can provide additional product knowledge and advice to their customers and patients.
Lydia is the store manager with a customer first mind-set and the OTC team includes Stacey, Anne, Austin, Hollie, April and Niamh all of whom have built up strong relationships with their customers.

the dedicated and highly experienced team have extensive product knowledge, health advice and tips for all the family.
2) Condition management and support: The Pharmacy team are available to support and advise patients with conditions like asthma, diabetes, children health and heart disease.
3) Convenient prescription services: Including home delivery and a free convenient, time-saving express prescription service to which customers sign up and receive monthly text notifications to indicate repeat prescriptions are
ready for pick up. They also offer blister packs for better medication management.
4) Health related Services: provide a wide range of services from emergency contraception, smoking cessation and weight management programmes, skin care analysis, blood pressure and BMI monitoring most of which are free of charge.
The Pharmacy is open seven days a week from 9am-10pm and has some car park spaces outside for easy access and customer convenience.
550 Nominations over 12 Categories
McKesson Ireland welcomed all employees to come and nominate their peers and teams over 12 categories – one for each of the icare and ilead values – as well as two overall awards for outstanding Employee of the year award and team of the year award. With nearly 550 nominations, the depth of gratitude their colleagues clearly feel for each other made the task of shortlisting all of these names an extremely difficult but worthwhile duty for the judges. Each category had to be shortlisted to 4-5 people. The judging panel was made up of the McKesson Ireland Country Board and it’s safe to say, they were absolutely blown away with the sheer volumes of nominations submitted and the many examples of how the teams have gone the extra mile and put their customers and patients first.
